We love spending time in the outdoors and really enjoy it when we get to see wildlife. Sometimes it helps if you have an idea where that wildlife might be. A couple of days ago we took a short hike at Oscar Scherer State Park that has an active bald eagle nest. They are somewhere up north right now, and as hot as it has been (90s and humid) I don’t blame them. This particular nest is clearly marked on the park trail maps but sometimes you might be in a location that doesn’t provide that information.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has a great resource if you are interested in locating bald eagles in the State of Florida. Follow the link below and you can search for nests utlizing several different methods to include GPS coordinates, public lands, or even an address. I wish we would have been able to see the eagles, but when we come back this winter they should be here.
